David Burghoff is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he holds the Werner W. Dornberger Centennial Teaching Fellowship in Engineering. Prior to this, he was a postdoc and research scientist at MIT and faculty at Notre Dame. Dr. Burghoff’s research primarily focuses on the confluence of phase-active nonlinear photonic devices and long-wavelength photonics for applications in sensing, computing, and energy. His work emphasizes broadband devices and systems, and he is particularly known for his work in the mid-infrared and terahertz wavelength ranges.
